Wired art: Putting character into her work.Using a variety of wire, beads and colors, St. David’s Brenda Péo is putting character into art as each creation comes alive. “One day I had some extra wire and just started twisting. I have always painted and drawn horses. I call these three-dimensional scribbling.” bpeo starts by using copper. She takes that and builds the inside of the horse. as more and more detail is adds, she said each sculpture takes on its own character. Most of the shapes are made for table and shelves. but bpeo said one of her most recent creations using chicken wire stands four feet high. “The response from people has been absolutely fantastic. people have asked for other animals, but horses are what I know” bpeo has a talent for making jewelry and belts. Using sterling silver, gold and copper, she crafts accessories for all kinds of outfits. Whether it’s through jewelry, belts or horses, bpeo, has an obvious love for metal art and said she can’t imagine stopping. |
